Mike Donello & The New EssentialsMike Donello & The New Essentials are a natural soul, rhythm, folk, pop and rock experience based out of the live music capital of the world, Austin, TX. Mike plays a blend of many instruments, such as ukulele, bass, percussion and tele guitars. For many years Donello has been teaming up with fellow friends and Austin musicians to swap songs and warm up crowds of all ages. In 2018 he he helped form The New Essentials, a working class band that plays all types of events and venues with a variety of singers, songs and original music. Teamed up with core members Matt Creaton and Jay Williams they keep a steady flow of new and essential musicians to play almost any type of event. Mike has had the honor of playing some of the many great Austin gems such as Saxon Pub, Far Out Lounge, Cedar Street Courtyard, Sholtz Garten, One-2-One Bar and many more. Many can even remember a few great performances at former South Austin treasures like Flipnotics, and Strangebrew. Mike Donello has also appeared on Balcony TV Austin within his first few years of moving to the great music city. Born in New York and raised in Florida, Mike began playing shows with many musical projects in the early 2000's. One of his bands, Olive Tree gained much attention while performing at the national music festival Sunfest in 2004 in West Palm Beach, FL. Mike has kept many musical bonds and friendships around the nation. In 2010 Donello released his first single as a solo artist, Kayak in the Keys under “Donello”. Soon after Mike decided to transplant his musical roots to Austin, TX! We appreciate your support especially if you've read this far!
