This presentation will provide guidance for employers and coworkers on how to recognize and support employees who may be experiencing abuse, as well as how to respond if an employee is perpetrating violence. Amanda will also review Maine laws that protect survivors of domestic violence and share the range of confidential support services offered by Partners for Peace. This session aims to equip workplaces with the tools to create a safer, more supportive environment for all employees.
Amanda Cost has spent more than 25 years working at the intersection of social justice and community support. She is currently the Executive Director of Partners for Peace, where she leads efforts to support survivors of domestic violence and build safer communities across Maine.
Her career in the nonprofit sector includes serving as Vice President of the Christine B. Foundation, where she focused on addressing the needs of individuals and families affected by cancer. Throughout her work, Amanda is known for her compassionate leadership, advocacy for equity, and deep commitment to listening to those whose voices often go unheard.
Amanda lives in Orono with her partner, Chad, and their two children.
