About this Event

In light of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Casa Cares at The Copa NYC will be hosting an awareness event on Friday, October 21st, 2022. October is a time to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and be a voice for its victims. Our mission is to support and empower all individuals with the help of education through distinguished panel discussions and exercises throughout the night. We hope to spread awareness every October moving forward and are happy to share that all services and classes during our event will be free!

Our awareness event will be focusing on the five pillars of domestic violence awareness including Education, Empowerment, Economic Support, Mental and Behavioral Health Services, and Housing. With the help of some of our sponsors, our night will start off with Education Awareness Tables for all guests to learn more about local support opportunities. A panel discussion including a Q&A segment will take place at 5p, followed by empowerment exercises such as Zumba, belly dancing and self-defense. The night will be closing out with our fashion show finale, “Love Doesn’t Hurt.” Spreading awareness and support throughout the New York City area is extremely important, along with education, we hope that our event can shed light on domestic violence and help everyone understand that love should never hurt.
