CI Intensive with Katja Mustonen
CI Intensive: RELATIONAL BODIES FALLING AND FLYING
In this CI intensive, we combine technical approaches - principles and pathways - with improvisational scores. We slide, roll, jump, and collide in and out of contact. The material shifts between solo, duo, trio, and group scores, alongside hands-on exercises to soften and prepare the body.
We focus on the weight of our bodies, exploring mass as it grounds, releases, suspends, and flies. We practice listening and responding to mobile support while training our reflexes to move safely through different levels. We play with spatial trajectories and shifting speeds, exploring how scaling physical tone can mobilize alignment and generate momentum.
Throughout, we emphasize physical interaction and negotiation at the core of this practice, engaging the joy of improvisation. Tasks that require multitasking help us move beyond habitual responses. Physical dialogues through touch, weight, and support allow us to shift orientation and stretch the duration of each moment.
How do we cultivate responsiveness while remaining spontaneous? How do we make space for the unknown as a source for improvisation?
CI workshop with Ronja Eick
IDn this workshop, we will explore movement qualities in contact improvisation and engage with skin receptors that perceive vibration, pressure, light touch, and stretching. The connecting element will be the theme of water: flowing, sloshing, boiling, spiraling around one another, gently enveloping, and meeting resistance. We will move individually, as well as in duet and trio constellations.
The sessions are inspired by the artistic research project “hanging in the skin” (December 2025) - a trio work in which I explored the connection between skin and water in contact together with Charotte Hartz and Jana Burianová.
The workshops include elements of (contact) improvisation, bodywork, performance, and score-based improvisational tasks.
Authentic Relating with Birgit Krejci & Alex Schallhammer
Authentic Relating is a transformative practice that deepens connections by reconnecting with ourselves to engage genuinely with others. It involves honest, transparent expression of our inner world, fostering understanding and shared experiences. Focused on the present moment, it encourages letting go of social masks and trusting the unknown, much like dance improvisation, leading to intimacy and vitality. Through various Authentic Relating Games practiced in pairs or groups, we explore open-hearted communication, stepping beyond comfort zones to build meaningful, joyful relationships with ease.

The first price is the recommended contribution. At the same time, there is a sliding scale to make participation accessible to people with different financial possibilities. If you are able to contribute more, you help support the participation of others with fewer financial resources. Included are all workshops & all 9 meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner.
