Things were looking bleak for planet Earth and its musical future. Trapped in the corset of its own Y chromosomes, rock 'n' roll languished in the viscous mathmos of leaden inertia. Until one night, the devil himself raised a bestial four-string from the blazing inferno and injected a blazing desire into Vero Pistolero's heart: With a wolf-like howl, the Goddess of Thunder lured four like-minded individuals from the deepest crevices of Bavaria, who, with razor-sharp heels, fought their way through the man-high thicket to join forces in an iron alliance.
Since then, the five have operated as an insurmountable swarm intelligence known as Doll Circus: Anna Smashy pummels the drums with bubbling energy, forming the fiercely drumming backbone of the bubbling cauldron, while Vero Pistolero, as the principal of the rock 'n' roll high school, keeps the galloping horses in check with her four strings, and reincarnated guitarist Terry Lee, together with her cosmic colleague, Spacecat Katharella, converts the audience's brainwaves into high-frequency gamma waves. At the front, Elli Fox dances hippie-like across the stage like a supernova with a flying mane, belting out blues-infused melodies to the blaring sounds of her instrumented sisters.
Almost two years after their initial battle cry, the walking high-voltage thunderstorm on ten legs launches its first album into the relentless orbit of the music business. On EAT THIS! The untamable felines fuse their very own take on hard rock with punk, silliness, glam, and a dash of metal into a spicy soup that penetrates the ears in an ecstatic way and burrows deep into the synapses. Lyrically, the ten tracks oscillate between exuberant nonsense, emancipated messages, and social commentary, without falling into the trap of grumpiness.
With a brand-new, fresh and cheerful lineup, they're now diligently honing sparkling sound tinctures and mysterious spells in the witch's kitchen, while continuing to play energetically on stage. Doll Circus know no inflated egos, no conformism, no bullshit.
