Dog and muffler garden party is to Cerebrate Toucan for children’s 15th year anniversary reading awareness and funds for a well deserved local charity. Though out the day there will be live music, live performances, action, raffle, bbq and much much more.
Toucan for children was set up back in 2010 to meet the needs of children who are experiencing emotional difficulties in their lives.
The idea for Toucan came about when Janice Watkins and Angie Beard, Toucans founders identified that there was a lack of front line services responding to children’s emotional needs, which provided the impetus for them to retain as play therapists and set up toucan.
Combined they have over 40 years of experience working with children and family through social work, probation and family court welfare and during this time recognised the negative consequences for children who did not get appropriate emotional/ mental society.
