About this Event

About the tour: Discover the venues within the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex, all of which have been recently and expertly renovated. The Bonfils Theatre Complex opened in 1979 and has been updated to better support performers and improve the audience experience. The Bonfils Theatre Complex houses 4 separate venues: The Wolf Theatre (650 seats); the Kilstrom Theatre (400 seats); the Singleton Theatre (200 seats); and the Jones Theatre (200 seats). It is the home of the Denver Center Theatre Company.

About the Arts Complex: The Denver Performing Arts Complex is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse in terms of venue sizes and types. It hosts performances ranging from classical orchestral music to touring rock and pop, ballet to modern dance and Broadway tours to immersive media/performance. The ten separate performance spaces are united by a single outdoor lobby, the Galleria.

About the tour guides: Jeff Gifford, Director of Production, Denver Center for the Performing Arts Theatre Company, leads a team of 65 artists and artisans who are responsible for everything the audience sees on stage during a production. The team supports all Theatre Company shows, several Off-Center shows (like Theatre of the Mind), Theatre for Young Audiences productions and select productions at the Garner Galleria Theatre. In his 9 years at DCPA, Jeff also supported the extensive Kilstrom, Wolf and Singleton Theatre renovation projects.

Chris Wineman, Principal at has worked on design projects in the Denver Performing Arts Complex since 1994. He is trained as an actor and director and has played multiple roles in performing arts design projects for more than 30 years. Semple Brown has been involved in design projects in all of the venues of the DPAC over more than 25 years.

Accessibility: As the tour may enter into behind-the-scenes or on-stage areas, certain elements of the tour may be wheelchair inaccessible. Opportunities for rest on this 90-minute walking tour will be limited.
