Join us at the new building of the School of Architecture at the University of Liverpool and its newly renovated Budden Lecture Theatre to explore how we may document and safeguard Intangible Cultural Heritage ('ICH') in the UK on Wednesday 25th March between 2pm and 5pm.

This workshop forms part of the research project "Keeping Traditions Alive", led by Dr Ataa Alsalloum.

This hybrid event is open to communities, practitioners, organisations, advisory bodies, governmental institutions and individuals - i.e. anyone involved or interested in the practice or safeguarding ICH across the UK. The intent of this event is to facilitate discussion between different groups who are the key components in the continuity of the UK's ICH.

Our event will provide an overview of ICH and the current UK policy . It will explore methods of documenting ICH using a unique musical instrument as presented by Dr Bailey. You will enjoy a panel of various practitioners, experts, and bodies who are actively involved in safeguarding of ICH and have an opportunity to ask questions of our panel. Following a break and musical performance, the day will proceed with an open discussion as to how we can practically support and develop the current UK policy for safeguarding ICH - exploring both the opportunities and challenges.

We hope to see you there at what we hope will be a national discussion held in the heart of Liverpool.
