SEAGNAL β The Oceanβs Last Call
SEAGNAL captures the urgent signals of the ocean crisis through the voices of those on the frontlines: Haenyeo divers from South Koreaβs Jeju Island, Indigenous coastal communities in Indonesia, marine sanctuary defenders in Mexico, free divers in Australia, Greenpeace Expedition in Seychelles, and scientists studying underwater noise in Barcelona. These are not passive victims, but proactive stewards of ocean protection.
The documentary also represents a bold step in addressing the global environmental emergency, signalling a new frontier in documentary filmmaking. Following the 2023 UN resolution calling for the expansion of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), the international community has rallied around the 30x30 goal of protecting 30% of the worldβs oceans by 2030. SEAGNAL provides a powerful cultural and emotional foundation for this global campaign.
