About this Event
The film traces conservation photographer George McKenzie Jr.'s journey from growing up in Brooklyn to documenting wild landscapes across Florida, using photography and storytelling to explore powerful connections between people and nature. The Book of George has screened at major festivals including Telluride Mountainfilm, Banff, and Jackson Wild, and serves as the foundation for a national impact campaign bringing conservation storytelling workshops to youth across the country.
Following the screening, George McKenzie Jr. will join us for a conversation about the film, his work as a conservation photographer, and the role of storytelling in protecting often-overlooked ecosystems. A Q&A with the audience will follow.
Please note: This film contains a small amount of strong language and is best suited for teens and adults (approximately 13+).
Whether you’re passionate about conservation, photography, or meaningful storytelling, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the filmmaker and the story behind the lens.
