“Underground music in Oklahoma starts with Debris’. No question.”—Stin, Chat Pile
In the fall of 1975, three young men walked into an Oklahoma City studio, and walked out having cut a record that would become a foundational document of proto-punk and art-rock.
There was no scene to catch them and little local support to keep the band alive. Debris’ disappeared—but the record didn’t. It survived, passed hand to hand, quietly reshaping the DNA of independent music and influencing artists who would later define it.
Debris’: Fugitives to the Fine Arts is the story of that record—how it was made, how it was lost, and how it refused to stay buried.
Join us Saturday, March 7th for a live music show and fundraiser to complete this documentary project and keep punk alive! (This event will be filmed).
