About this Event

Celebrate Women’s Herstory Month by learning about the history of the Cuala Press, a small fine art press founded and led by Elizabeth and Lily Yeats, sisters of poet William Butler Yeats, in Ireland at the turn of the 20th Century. The Yeats Sisters hired Irish women to create hand-printed books, publishing the works of emerging Irish authors and artists during a period of cultural revival and political change.

View the documentary film Lily and Lolly (runtime 1 hour, 5 minutes) and explore original materials from the Cuala Press from NC State's Special Collections and Research Center.
