About this Event
Join us for a screening of the documentary Free Joan Little, directed by Yoruba Richen, followed by a fireside discussion with the director. The film explores the landmark 1975 trial of Joan Little, the first woman in U.S. history acquitted for using deadly force to resist sexual assault, and its impact on movements for racial justice and gender-based violence awareness. This event is part of NC State Women’s Center Sexual Assault Awareness Month programming, in collaboration with the African American Cultural Center and the NC State University Libraries.
