About this Event
Join the Doctors Without Borders FoMSF MAPATHON!
Get ready for an exciting in-person event where you can make a real impact. Many parts of the world still don’t appear properly on online maps — roads, buildings, and even whole communities can be missing. At this event, you’ll work with other volunteers to trace these features from satellite images, creating maps that Doctors Without Borders uses to plan clinics, reach patients, and deliver aid safely. No experience needed — everything will be explained on the day. It’s a relaxed, social way to learn something new and contribute to a great cause. Don’t miss this fun and meaningful evening!
What will you be doing?
You’ll use simple online tools to trace roads and buildings from satellite images. We’ll show you exactly how on the day. Your mapping helps MSF plan healthcare delivery in hard-to-reach areas.
What to bring?
Just your laptop if you have one. We’ll provide everything else, learning ressources, music… and pizza 🍕.
Is this only for medical students?
Not at all! Open to students from any course — no medical knowledge needed. Anyone eager to help out for a good cause and meet like minded people are welcome :)
