The Walks

The walks, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by walk leaders who are also full of interesting information about the local area. The short circular walk will start and finish at the Entrance to Museum London Docklands, No. 1 Warehouse, West India Quay, London E14 4AL. We will be looking at the history of the Docklands and their role in the transatlantic slave trade.

The Walk Leader is a qualified historian with a huge amount of knowledge and experience.

Toilets are available at the beginning and end of the walk in the Museum of London Docklands. We also encourage you to look around and visit the free exhibitions.

The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.

Book now

Please book one time slot per person. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways .

Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.

If cost is a barrier to attending, please feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to discuss options.

Walk ins will not be accepted. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite or please get in touch with us to allow another person(s) a chance to take part. Social distancing measures will be in place and all equipment will be cleaned in between sessions.
