About this Event
Doc Shorts
Doc Shorts brings together five powerful short documentaries that reveal how dance intersects with identity, healing, and cultural expression across the globe. From krump circles in the UK to hula in Hawaiʻi and stepping in South Africa, each film offers a personal glimpse into communities where movement becomes a lifeline. These real-life portraits are tender, raw, and resonant—spotlighting stories of transformation, resilience, and the unspoken language of the body. Perfect for those who value the truth behind the art, this program is a testament to dance as a mirror of the human experience.
This screening will be followed by a live demonstration by the Montreal Steppers (The Steppers Visit South Africa)
