We're a queer-run West Coast Swing dance with lessons, a social dance, and a wonderful community. Whether you're totally new to partner dancing or have dabbled before, we'd love to have you join us 🙂 Come for the Beginner Class at 8:45pm to learn the basic moves of WCS (no partner needed!) and stay for the party and dancing at 9:30pm 🙌

Note: Classes will take place in the “Spotlight Ballroom”. Social dancing will take place in the “Royal Ballroom”
7:15-7:30pm
Setup and Registration
7:30-8:15 pm
WCS Building Blocks (Level 2)
For those who have attended at least one “Welcome to WCS” or an introductory course at another studio/event.
Dancers should be comfortable dancing Left Side Pass, Under Arm Pass, and Sugar Push.
This class will cover basic WCS patterns and techniques – specifically those needed for the following Creative Expression class!
8:15-9:00 pm
Creative Expression (Level 3)
For those who are proficient with West Coast Swing basics, or who have attended the WCS Building Blocks class immediately prior. This class will involve higher level patterns, techniques and styling.
9:00-9:15 pm
Social Dancing in the Spotlight Ballroom
8:45-9:30 pm
Welcome to WCS (Level 1/First Timer)
For those who are brand new to West Coast Swing – During the social dance, volunteers from the community will teach the basic rhythms and connections of West Coast Swing, as well as a few of our basic patterns.
9:15 pm – Change Locations! Switch to Royal Ballroom
9:15-11:30 pm

Feat. the Power Half Hour (half songs for half an hour), community building activities,
jams, and more!

One-Time Entry (Sliding Scale): $10-40
At-the-door payment, processed by Starlite Ballroom.
Covers entry to one DYOS Thursday event (all classes and social dancing included). Simply walk up to the front desk and name your price within the range.
January DYOS Sponsor (Unlimited Monthly Pass): $80-160

Upon payment, your name will be added to a guest list for the month of your choosing.
No recurring or automatic charges. DYOS Sponsor access will end on the last day of the month of the sponsor’s choosing and will only reactivate with another DYOS Sponsor contribution.

DYOS’s health policy is aimed at mitigating the spread of Covid-19
and reducing the severity of breakthrough infections.
--> Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required.
An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the completion of a primary vaccine series.
--> High Filtration Mask (KN95, N95, or KF94 with no exhaust port) MAY be required, depending on prevalence of COVID-19 in Santa Clara County. Policy is announced every Tuesday (approx. 48 hours before each event).
KN95 masks are available for sale at check-in - $1/cash or $2/VenMo
