About this Event
DMICS Presents: A Sense of Place
DMICS 2024 will conclude with a program of chamber music showcasing our incredible artist-faculty and guests including GRAMMY-winning violinist Domenic Salerni, trailblazing cellist Amanda Gookin, and rockstar pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski. The Vimadean Duo will give the world premiere of a new work by Jordan Kuspa based on the local ecosystem of Del Mar and the nearby Torrey Pines State Reserve. DMICS composers Martin Bresnick, Texu Kim, Polina Nazaykinskaya, Omar Surillo round out what is sure to be an exciting and deeply moving program.
DMICS exists to encourage the sharing of new musical ideas between composers, performers, and the community, and to present the best new concert music from around the world in the City of Del Mar. In particular, DMICS is designed to allow composers and performers a space to collaborate intimately on the creation and presentation of new works, while inviting the public to experience that process first-hand. DMICS is a sponsored program of the Del Mar Foundation. For more information, please visit delmarcomposers.org.
