For the third year in a row, the Del Mar International Composers Symposium (DMICS) presents an evening of opera and song like no other! Hear scenes from the ongoing opera-in-progress "Tear Down This Wall" by Polina Nazaykinskaya and Konstantin Soukhovetski, relive the passionate love story between an old man and his wife as they deal with the fallout of dementia in Jordan Kuspa's "A Long Trip," and hear world premiere art songs composed by several of DMICS student composer participants, all sung by some of the finest singers in Southern California.

DMICS exists to encourage the sharing of new musical ideas between composers, performers, and the community, and to present the best new concert music from around the world in the City of Del Mar. In particular, DMICS is designed to allow composers and performers a space to collaborate intimately on the creation and presentation of new works, while inviting the public to experience that process first-hand.
