David Dioubaté is a multidisciplinary Guinean artist, primarily known as a dancer, choreographer, and singer. Here are the key elements of his career:
Early Years and Family Heritage
Griot by Birth: David Dioubaté comes from a lineage of traditional artists. He is the son of a guitarist father and a singer mother. His grandmother was also a singer and dancer.
Early Passion: He began dancing at the age of 9.
Training: At 12, he joined the group "Trouna," and later the troupe "Africa Danse."
International Career
Breakthrough: In 2000, he was selected by choreographer George Momboye to join the "Circus Baobab" project (often mentioned under similar names in local archives). This project allowed him to travel and perform on international stages.
Settlement in Sweden: Since 2012, David Dioubaté has resided in Sweden, where he continues to develop his artistic career far from his native land.
