About this Event
This workshop series offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich musical traditions of West Africa through hands-on learning, rhythm exploration, and cultural connection.
Connect, learn, and feel the rhythm together.
All are welcome. Drum rentals available upon request
Hamisi brings deep knowledge and authenticity to his teaching, having traveled to Africa to study the music and culture of the Mande people firsthand. His training includes direct study with legendary Grandmasters Mamady Keita, Bolokada Conde, and Famoudou Konate.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced drummer, this series will deepen your understanding of rhythm, technique, history, and the cultural roots of djembe music in a welcoming and community-centered environment.
Let's play together, create connections, and have a great time making music!
