Join us at the Echoplex on Friday, March 28, for a night where vinyl takes center stage and legends unite. Returning to LA, Japan’s own DJ KOCO (aka SHIMOKITA) and the Bay Area’s revered DJ Shortkut spinning exclusive all-45's sets. Setting the night off, Geenee and Hydroe light up the atmosphere with back-to-back 45 sessions. It's a vibe! This epic night brings international flavor and root grit, proving that true talent knows no borders. This is where tradition meets innovation. Don’t miss this celebration of history, resilience, and the art of the mix.
DJ KOCO (aka SHIMOKITA)
Hailing from Tokyo Japan, DJ KOCO aka SHIMOKITA—is a pioneering force in vinyl DJing. Renowned for his meticulous all 45 sets and innovative mixing techniques, he has played a crucial role in shaping Japan’s underground club culture. His performances blend precision with passion, inspiring a global audience and cementing his status as a true legend.
SHORTKUT
A stalwart of the Bay Area scene, Shortkut has headlined major events including Damian Marley’s Welcome To Jam Rock Cruise and served as the opening DJ for LL Cool J’s Force Tour, along with collaborations with his iconic crews Invisibl Skratch Piklz and LA legends The Beat Junkies on world tours. His journey is as much about triumph as it is about talent—having battled a stroke that left him paralyzed just days after performing for the Roots Picnic at the Hollywood Bowl, Shortkut’s resilience shines through in every set. His story and skill embody the spirit of hip hop, proving that overcoming adversity only deepens the love for the craft.
