Support local pollinators and get creative in this hands-on workshop with Flower City Bee Works at ARTISANworks!Join us on Thursday, June 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the Elizabeth Gallery for an engaging evening where you’ll build your very own native bee hotel using recycled and natural materials. Designed for gardeners, nature lovers, families, and curious beginners alike, this workshop offers a fun and approachable way to support the essential pollinators right in your own backyard.
Most native bees are gentle, solitary pollinators that do not live in hives or produce honey. New York State is home to more than 450 species of native bees, many of which are increasingly at risk. In this class, you’ll learn why these important insects matter, how bee hotels provide safe nesting spaces, and simple ways you can help create healthier pollinator habitats at home.
Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process of assembling and decorating a bee hotel to take home and install in a garden, yard, or outdoor spaces. All supplies are included with registration, including:
