Medicinal herbs are not only helpful but often beautiful additions to your home garden. Led by Emily Gogol (Grow It From Home) this workshop will cover:

  • Starting a backyard or patio medicinal herb garden
  • Practical advice on drying and storing your herbs
  • Make an herbal tincture to take home

The session will introduce you to popular medicinal herbs like mint, lavender, and chamomile, as well as lesser-known ones. Our experts will also answer your questions on growing and caring for these beneficial plants.

Whether you have a large backyard or a small patio, we’re here to provide expert guidance and help you get started!

About Our Guest Speakers

Emily Gogol, Ph.D.

In 2020 Emily launched Grow It From Home, a company dedicated to providing medicinal plants to backyard gardeners across the U.S. while promoting education, access, and equity. Her work has been featured in the LA Times.

Emily earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from UCSF and was deeply involved in community work in San Francisco. Recognized by the State of California for her leadership, she has founded three community organizations and two public parks. She currently lives in Applegate Valley, OR, where she manages her 23-acre certified organic farm and finds time to garden whenever possible.
