Owning a home comes with a lot of responsibilities. Every spring, there are many things to do around a typical home: checking for winter damage, preventing water issues, and getting ready for warmer weather. It can be especially daunting if you find yourself having to do these things for the first time.
Join Rodney and Rod for another OTL workshop about DIY Home Maintenance for the Spring. This workshop is designed for anyone wanting to learn about how take care of their home.
Topics in this workshop include:
- Checking for water damage around windows, doors and eaves
- Turning on taps and irrigation systems
- Replacing filters (HVAC and water filters)
- Making sure Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Filters are working
- Prepping HVAC, particularly air conditioners
- Checking drains, traps and sump pumps.

NOTES:
a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot. Please make sure this date works with your schedule.
b) Member-rate tickets are reserved for current Ottawa Tool Library members. If a non-member registers at the member rate, we will follow up to collect the price difference plus a $15 administrative fee.
c) If you are registering for a young person, please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the same workshop. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in many of our workshops (other than Tinkering School and some demo nights).
