FAQ - Hat Burning Workshop
Do I get to choose my own hat?
Yes, You'll choose from a curated selection of quality wide brim hats provided at class.
Is this beginner friendly?
Absolutely.No prior woodburning or hat burning experience is required.
Will there be practice before burning the actual hat?
Yes. We'll start with practice material so you can get comfortable with the tools and build your confidence.
How much instruction will we get?
This is a guided, hands-on class. I'll walk you through the process step-by- step and I keep the class small so it feels more comfortable learning.
Can I add text or a custom design?
Yes, I'll provide design guidance, templates and tips. You're welcome to freehand if you choose to do so. You are welcome to bring a specific template to class as well. Etsy sells some online and some people print some on a cricket machine and bring to class. The brim size is 3". I have a wide variety of templates to choose from. I'll help you with the transfer process.
How long is the class?
2 hours, with time built in for design, practice burning and finishing details.
Are food and drinks provided?
You are welcome to bring your own beverages to the class. I recommend the drinks to have lids to prevent spillage. I will provide some light snacks as well.
What if I'm not "artsy"?
You don't need to be. This class is designed for beginners ( no matter the gender), and I'll help you along the way. Build your confidence and you may surprise yourself with the results.
