About this Event
Led by musician and festival curator Sophie Cooper, (read more about Sophie here: Sophie Cooper – Experimental Musician) this workshop is designed for someone ready to kickstart their career as a music festival manager or events producer.
Over the course of the workshop you will explore key elements of designing and hosting an event and develop ideas for your own DIY Festival. Unearth more about music events production, particularly the UK underground DIY scene and meet other aspiring events producers!
This a great opportunity to get hands on training with Sophie Cooper an experienced producer of independent festivals, who will give you a brilliant outline of career pathways, so you leave with practical steps of how to break into the music industry and put your events ideas into action.
This workshop is hosted by AMP, (www.amp-music.co.uk) open to 18-25years (up to 30 if disabled or neurodivergent).

The space is wheelchair accessible. Lunch, hot drinks and cold drinks will be provided. There will time for breaks, fresh air.
The venue is a 10-minute walk from York Train Station and close to multiple bus stops. Limited paid and free parking options in the immediate area.
