About this Event
A community DIY Fashion workshop for people looking to explore their identity through fashion.
Upcycling old clothes using safety pins, paints, patched to personalise. I will be providing ideas for inspiration but it will be a space for connection and self-exploration.
The workshop is for people with little/no fashion experience and no technical skills are required.
About the facilitator:
Jay (he/they) is a trans creative, interested in the deconstruction of society norms but also a fashion style.
He enjoys exploring his identity through fashion, writing and ways to combine the two.
Their experience is all personal experimentation and he's looking to create a space to meet and create with other people interested in exploring identity through fashion.
Accessibility:
This is an informal group with prompts for inspiration which Jay will provide both written and verbally. People are free to explore their own ideas or be given instruction as required. It will be a quiet space where people can take breaks as required.
The Centre's accessibility statement is here.
