About this Event
This three-part divination class will give you working knowledge of a number of methods of divination: reading omens, basic astrological timing, Tarot, the I Ching, and more. While this is a three-part series, you are welcome to take any of the classes individually. Each class will include practical work as well as lectures, and there will be handouts to aid and guide you.
Class 1, Saturday, November 9, 1-5 pm: Divination Overview
This class will be an overview of divination practices from simple (coin tossing) to more complex (e.g. Astrological Timing). It will include a brief overview of I Ching and Tarot, which will be covered in greater depth in the following two classes. We will explore some of these esoteric practices with questions drawn from your own life.
Class 2, Saturday, November 16, 1-5 pm: I Ching
This class will introduce the I Ching as a practical system of divination. It will include an overview of the construction of the I Ching, the meaning of the eight trigram symbols and how they combine into the 64 hexagrams. We will pair off and explore personal questions with I Ching guidance.
Class 3, Saturday, November 23, 1-5 pm: Tarot
This will be a rapidfire class on the meaning and structure of the Tarot and the 72 cards of the major and minor arcana. We will explore a few simple spreads and do some practical work. Although this will be a brief overview, you will leave having enough practical knowledge to integrate Tarot into your everyday life.
