What to expect?

New Moon Manifestation Meditation: We will tune into our own intuition and get access to and resurface our subconscious thoughts and beliefs through the power of focusing on our breath, bodily awareness, visualisation and affirmations, allowing our thoughts and emotions to come out without judgment. Welcoming all kinds of emotions, even the 'negative' ones. We let go of what we do not intend to hold onto mentally, energetically, and spiritually, followed by setting intentions and calling into action what we truly set out to do in life.

Sound healing: Basically, nothing, and feel free to surrender as you would in a Yin yoga session; simply let the sonic energy do its job and nourish you. You will be lying down or lying on the soft surface of the couch in a calming, nourishing, and luxurious private space. There will be cushions supporting your back if you need them.

This experience is first-timer friendly, and all levels of meditation and breathwork experience are welcome.

Learn from ourselves and each other: a safe space that welcomes all sorts of emotions, supported by one another in a co-created collective flow and restorative state. Sense of Self also invites you to share what you wish (during The Mindful Integration or after) so we can learn from each other and grow together.


How it works?

Sound healing is a modality of ancient wisdom; it is an effective method of soundscape with a healing nature. Our body is composed of a great percentage of water, therefore highly vibrating and resonating with sound on a cellular level, so sound has the potential to shift the mood and state of the body and the mind.

Our body has an incredible potential to restore itself through sleep and deep rest, in which sound healing promotes the state by enabling the brainwave to operate in the realms of theta and delta, in contrast to the constant state in the beta wave we normally operate on a daily-basis for conversations and tasks. Such higher vibrational states would allow the brain and the body's nervous system to relax and rebalance itself and also lead to empowerment and clarity through access to subconsciousness and subconscious beliefs. Apart from the day-to-day stressful fight-or-flight mode, sound healing has the power to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, invigorating its function to promote our digestive system and state of rest and release.


What to prepare?

Simply yourself :) with an open mind.

Cushions, blankets and yoga mats will be provided. An eye pillow or eye mask can be prepared should you wish (the venue will be dim-lit).

For personalisation, you can bring along your crystals, journal, token, or anything else that you wish to make your comfort more comfortable during this self-care, empowerment, and self-discovery journey, as long as it does not interfere with your neighbours beside you.


The journey:

It will be a multi-sensory immersive experience.

The place will be smudged with palo santo/sage for a cleanse to set the tone of the ritual and for you to settle in with sensory savoury.


19:00 - 19:10 The Grace Period

Come into the space to settle, and have your props and tea prepared for your best comfort and indulgence for this ritual of self-care.

19:10 - 20:10 The Healing Experience

Full sound experience with a guided meditation on the main theme of New Moon Manifestation. A brief visualisation meditation or breathwork will be instilled to mark the beginning of the ritual and to set your intention(s) to make desirable things happen for your next chapter in life. An integrative silence is also inserted at the end to bring everyone back to the space and mark the closure of the ritual as a full-circle experience.

20:10 - 20:20 The Mindful Break

20:20 - 20:45 The Empowering Integration: Journaling + Sharing Circle

Feel free to journal what might arise during the session regarding release, reflection and gratitude. A safe space is held for you to share your resurfaced thoughts and feelings only what you feel like sharing and are comfortable with, where everyone will be treated with respect, care and compassion. As this is a collective healing space, moment and experience, common ground and connection are being sought after while individuality and distinction shall be embraced with an open mind.

20:45 - 21:00 Ending

Time for Q&A and feedback. If none above, feel free to leave for a nourishing good night's sleep.



Aftercare and matters need attention:

Please switch your smart devices to mute/aeroplane mode.

Strongly caffeinated drinks right before and after the session are highly not recommended. Also, if you could prevent yourself from using your devices the next 30 - 45 minutes after the session, it would be great for letting the energy work, integrating and prolonging the restful state and the feeling of lightness you may have straight out of the session.

Please note that falling asleep is a natural reaction to deep relaxation, and you may hear deep breathing during the session. Should loud snoring arise, the practitioner will gently wake the individual to ensure a calm experience for all.


Admission & Access:

Due to the healing and serene nature of sound healing, 10 minutes of grace period settling in time is given and a strict policy is enacted that unfortunately, any participants arriving after 19:10 will not be granted admission with no exception. This is to ensure the best experience for everyone without any disruption as well as to fully honour the ‘me time’.

About the facilitator:

My name is Song/Peggy, a CMA-accredited Sound Healer. I have assisted my trainer Maria Lodetoft with many sound healing sessions for Mandrake Hotel's wellness programme. A sound healing enthusiast myself, I have been to countless sessions of sound healing experiences and other transformative energy healing, mindfulness and embodiment workshops. I regularly practice yoga, breathwork, embodiment, visualisation, meditation, and daily gratitude journaling, which allow me to present and share my knowledge and energy with you in your self-discovery journeys. Likewise, I am very keen and open to knowing what you think and how you feel; please feel free to share your personal journey and stories as much as you feel comfortable.


Manifesto & Mission:

Dedicating to bringing wellness, mindfulness and self-care practices to a more fashionable and mainstream light, I decided to launch Sense of Self to aid many friends and community members’ self-care journey and to make the art and act self-care a daily habit.
