Disrupting Internalized Ableism and Mental Health Stigma
Disrupting internalized ableism and mental health stigma is crucial for creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities. During this session the LFI team will educate people about ableism and mental health, emphasizing the harmful effects of stigma.
Staff will share their stories, highlighting personal experiences with mental health and disability to foster empathy and understanding.
This virtual session will be interactive and engaging, giving participants time to practice disrupting internalized ableism using real-life scenarios.
After this session participants will have tools to disrupt internalized ableism when it occurs and will learn how to support people with disabilities and their mental health.
