About this Event

The STADA EXPO is coming to Huddersfield, the hometown of Thornton & Ross, part of global pharmaceutical company STADA Group, during its European tour.

Using interactive multimedia, the STADA EXPO showcases the company’s heritage and sustainability, giving people the chance to peek inside its production site which manufactures household names such as Zoflora and Savlon®.

Get the opportunity to meet key representatives from STADA Thornton & Ross and learn more about the organisation and findings from its recent STADA Health report, now in its 10th year, which surveys more than 46,000 respondents from 32 countries, 2,000 of whom are in the UK.

STADA Thornton & Ross offers consumer healthcare products, generics, and specialty pharmaceuticals. The company has been caring for customers and patients since 1922 and has manufacturing sites in Huddersfield and Kirham, Lancashire. It supports Britain’s wellbeing in multiple settings, including consumer healthcare, hospital, primary care, Ph*rm*cy, and homecare.

Representatives from the University of Huddersfield will also be in attendance.

This event will also include an in-depth panel discussion involving representatives from STADA Thornton & Ross and academics from the University of Huddersfield as they discuss the healthcare landscape. Topics covered will include the STADA Health Report and how it aligns with the vision for the National Health Innovation Campus, with a particular focus on wellbeing, Ph*rm*cy and public health systems.

The panel discussion will be led by the following:

  • Prof Liz Towns-Andrews, Regional Business Lead for the University of Huddersfield’s National Health Innovation Campus
  • Paul Burden, Vice President of Rx at STADA Thornton & Ross, and vice-chair of the British Generic Manufacturers Association
  • Dr Nicola Gray, Reader in Medicines and Health at the University of Huddersfield and co-chair of the UNESCO Chair ‘Global Health and Education.

About the STADA EXPO

STADA EXPO is a multimedia exhibition of the STADA Group that, through an interactive and sustainable prism, shows production processes in the healthcare and pharma industry, as well as illuminating health stories. Education, innovation and technology are combined in an inspiring, immersive way to engage viewers in the company’s purpose of Caring for People’s Health as a Trusted Partner.

This multimedia installation consists of four recycled containers specially adapted and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, from virtual glasses and holograms of the human body to touch-sensitive displays dedicated to ESG principles. From the first step to the exit of the EXPO, visitors pass through interactive displays and tactile elements, learning both about the importance of caring for the community and the environment, as well as the importance of everyone’s contribution.

It’s a chance to experience the 100-year heritage of the Thornton & Ross brand, explore its sustainability credentials, and check out the production process behind well-known brands such as Savlon, Zoflora, Covonia, Nizoral and Cetraben.
