Matariki is a powerful celebration grounded in the astronomical knowledge of our tūpuna, who read the dawn sky to mark the turning of the seasons and prepare for winter. Step inside the planetarium and experience this story brought to life beneath a perfect night sky—no clouds, no cold mornings, just breathtaking stars. Join us as we explore how astronomy and mātauranga Māori come together in Matariki, revealing a deep connection between the heavens, the land, and people. This year we have introduced some 5pm tours at the start of July, coinciding with the public holiday and the school holidays. Our 7pm evening tours are aimed to audiences 8+, so we are making the 5pm tours for those who have younger families that want to participate in the celebration of Matariki with us,
