This experience is designed for anyone who wants to try scuba diving for the first time—no certification or prior experience required. Discover Scuba Diving at the Wellness and Aquatic Center located at the College of Southern Maryland Leonardtown campus is a guided, instructor-led introduction to breathing underwater in a safe, controlled environment.
What This Experience Is
Discover Scuba Diving is not a certification course. It’s a hands-on introductory experience that lets you try scuba diving under direct supervision from a professional instructor. It’s perfect for anyone who’s curious about scuba but isn’t ready to commit to a full certification course yet.
How the Experience Works
The experience is structured to be simple, relaxed, and fun:
• Brief Orientation – Learn the basics of scuba equipment, breathing, and safety
• Shallow Water Session – Get comfortable breathing underwater and moving in scuba gear
• Instructor Supervision – An instructor is with you the entire time
There’s no pressure, no tests, and no prior training required—just a controlled introduction to scuba diving.
