Discover 4-H: A Hands-on event is to introduce homeschool families to the 4-H program and all it has to offer. During the session, youth will participate in engaging, hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and show how 4-H learning happens through doing.Healthy Habits : Healthy Lives
WHEN: Thursday, April 9, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: Dakota County Extension Office, 4100 220th St. W, Farmington, MN
RSVP BY: Friday, April 3 (https://z.umn.edu/HomeschoolDiscover4-H)
WHAT: What do a bicycle, fruit, tortillas, and a blender have in common? This session will allow youth hands and feet-on time in the kitchen.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay during the workshop and engage in conversation with 4-H staff to learn more about the 4-H program, including available clubs, project opportunities, events, and how 4-H can complement and support their homeschool curriculum. We’ll explore how 4-H aligns with educational goals, supports experiential learning, and offers flexible options for homeschool families.
This is ideal for families who are new to 4-H or interested in learning more in a relaxed, low-commitment setting. Families will leave with a better understanding of 4-H, how it may fit their homeschool needs, and the next steps for getting involved—if and when they’re ready.
