Get ready to break barriers and celebrate diversity at the Disability Summit 2025 - a day of empowerment, inclusion, and innovation!
About this Event

We are excited to announce this year's theme: Change, Challenge, Celebrate!



Change: reviewing the impact of past and present changes in law and policy on the community

Challenge: developing tools and skills to overcome obstacles to equality and self-determination for the disability community

Celebrate: recognizing the diversity of lived experiences for people with disabilities and lifting up their leadership for all of society



Here is an overview of some of the programming to expect!



Keynote by Emily Voorde, Founder of Into Strategies, speaking on leadership development in the disability community



Luncheon speaker – Kim Musheno, Senior Director of Medicaid Policy, The Arc of the United States, speaking on the impact of federal Medicaid cuts



Focused panels on:



Self-Directed Autism Service – led by former House Speaker Denny O’Brien; former Philadelphia Councilmember Derek Green; and State Representative Abigail Salisbury



The Current Landscape and Future of Assistive Technology: Insights from Every Angle - led by Tyler McCready of KenCrest and Alana Raffl of TechOWL, Institute on Disabilities at Temple Disability



Leadership Development – led by Emily Voorde and Shane Feldman of Innivee Strategies



Raising Your Voice for Positive Change – a panel discussion featuring people with lived disability experience, led by Jamie Ray-Leonetti, Temple Intitute on Disabilities



Legislative Policy Hearing with legislators from the Policy Committee of the Democratic House Caucus: reviewing the report and recommendations of the Pennsylvania Tech Accelerator and draft legislation for Technology First initiatives that seek to improve accessibility to state government services for all members of the disability community
