About this Event

Join Andrea for this engaging two-session workshop and gain hands-on experience plus practical tips on video editing and using Canva for marketing.

First session: How to edit a video for social media

Second session: How to use Canva to create social content

Who this workshop is for:
Small business owners and founders who want to create their own social media content confidently, consistently and without relying on templates that look like everyone else’s.

About the sessions:

How to edit a video for social media, Tuesday 19th May, 9.30am-12.30pm

This hands-on workshop covers the fundamentals of editing short-form video for social media using popular free tools. You’ll learn how to edit with attention and retention in mind, apply simple best-practice techniques for social video, and understand what actually makes content watchable rather than scroll-past material.

We’ll walk through the core editing features across commonly used apps, including CapCut, InShot and Instagram Edits, showing you how to work on both mobile and desktop so you can decide what suits your workflow best. You’ll see live demonstrations and then apply the skills yourself during the session.

This is a practical, do-as-you-go workshop. If you bring your own video footage, you can leave with one edited video ready for social media. If not, you’ll still learn the full process using example footage provided.

How to use Canva to create social content, Tuesday 26th May, 9.30am-12.30pm

This workshop introduces Canva with a clear focus on creating effective social media content. You’ll learn how to use the essential tools needed to design static posts, carousels and simple videos, without overcomplicating things or getting lost in features you don’t need.

We’ll cover how to set up your brand basics inside Canva using your colours and fonts, then apply them to create clean, on-brand content. You’ll learn how to build a seamless Instagram carousel, where to find and use graphics and frames, and how to edit video inside Canva, including trimming clips, adding text, basic animation, transitions and music.

This is a hands-on session. If you come with an idea or assets, you can leave with one completed piece of social content ready to post. What you walk away with will depend on what you bring, but you’ll be actively creating throughout the workshop.
