Level up your drawing skills in a fun, interactive, full day workshop!
Participants will get an introductory insight to the entertainment design industry whilst learning techniques that they can apply straight away! Perfect for beginners who are interested in pursuing this field or for those who are curious about studying at CDW Studios.

For those who have attended before, it will be similar content with a different brief.
This workshop is ideal for high school students and those considering a pathway into entertainment design (including uni students and career changers).
What you will need:
Drawing devices and drawing materials! See recommendations below.
The instructor will demonstrate digital art techniques using Photoshop and/or Blender.
You're welcome to use whichever software you're comfortable with or use paper/pen/pencils/markers etc.
Hardware Recommendations
- A laptop and drawing tablet (eg. Wacom and Huion have good drawing tablets) so that you can follow along, as we do not supply any equipment for our workshops.
- iPads may be used with the Procreate app.
Software Recommendations
- Adobe Photoshop - You can take up a 7-day trial if you haven't used it before and would like to try it out.
- Other drawing programs include Manga studio, Krita, Corel Painter, Heavypaint, or Gimp.
- For iPad users we recommend Procreate
- Blender - free!
What if I don’t have a laptop or drawing software?
No worries! You can use a sketchbook and pencils/pens/markers, but just be mindful that the instructor will demonstrate digitally. The foundations of what you'll learn will be transferrable to any medium.
