The DIG Conference serves as a dynamic platform for national and international Dieback stakeholders from diverse sectors to come together exchange ideas and advance the collective understanding of Phytophthora Dieback and other environmental biosecurity challenges.
This year’s conference theme “Strength in Our Roots” – emphasises the vital role of grassroots leadership and community empowerment in environmental biosecurity.
“Strength in Our Roots” reflects the Dieback Working Group’s efforts to build sustainable long-term change from the ground up through initiatives like the Green Card program school education and other collaborative projects.
By connecting people at all levels and focusing on foundational change we will help communities grow stronger together to tackle threats such as Phytophthora Dieback.
Conference Day – Wednesday 24th Sept
The format for this year’s DIG Conference Day includes workshops and activities for you to choose from in addition to speaker presentations throughout the day.
The DIG Conference Day is available both in person and online. Join our audience of national and international Dieback stakeholders from universities government and non-government agencies consultants extractive industries forestry organisations and land care groups among others. Speakers across these sectors will deliver a range of presentations to showcase a diverse range of Phytophthora Dieback science and management talks and content on other disease threats to natural ecosystems. 
Keynote speakers include:
Frederik Hjelm Biosense – Traditional owner surveillance Program for Kauri Dieback.
Kylie Ireland DBCA – Dieback Detector Dogs.
Bruno Rikli Dieback Working Group – Dieback-Free Basic Raw Materials (BRM) Project Update.
DWG Green Card Training – Tuesday 23rd Sept
DWG Green Card™ Training (Dieback Biosecurity Awareness Training) is recognised by WA government authorities to gain the skills and knowledge you need to manage your risk of spreading Phytophthora Dieback on-ground.
As part of DIG 2025 DWG Green Card™ Training will include additional benefits:

Tactics to avoid and minimise spreading weeds and Phytophthora during your activities.
Understand what the coloured symbols mean on standard Phytophthora Dieback signage.
Apply a safe-work-method for vehicle clean-down.
Identify parts of a vehicle to inspect and clean-down.
Dieback Management Field Trip – Thursday 25th Sept
Join us for a day out in the bush with Dieback Interpreters!
The field trip includes two site visits to locations with very different vegetation profiles to observe Dieback Management. A Dieback interpreter will present on the history of the area Dieback survey method results and managing biosecurity in areas with multiple stakeholder interests. There will be a walk at each site. 
Roe 8 Revegetation Corridor located just south of Murdoch University
Bungendore Park located on the edge of the Darling Scarp (part of the Wungong Regional Park).
