After what seems years I can finally say I’ve found a home for my “DIG’RS SUNDAY SOCIAL”. The original concept of bringing together all audio vinyl heads and lovers once a month to buy, share, trade, swap, select the beloved black plastic gold of tunes and ting.
@rockpointrecords has always been a great spot in my backyard of NewBrighton leading the independent charge and is now expanding it’s horizons.
Expect the very best of everything REGGAEHIPHOPSOULFUNKAFRODISCOACIDJAZZ’NSKAFUNKADELIC BEATS RYTHMNS & BASSLINES to say the least all 100% vinyl spun by some of the best selectors in the area & beyond.
Our 1st offering is on 05.04.26 BankHoliday Sunday from 2pm till 6pm. Then every 1st Sunday of the month after.
First up on the 5th April 2pm till 4pm we have selector @kmarleydj who is by far one of the most accomplished selectors in the area. Spanning sets from early Camel Club, Magnet days to Africa Oye & Positive Vibration festivals to supporting Black Uhuru & Don Letts to name a few. In his words “He has one of the most comprehensive collections of reggae vinyl in the area”. Next up 4pm till 6pm we have one half of the @conduit_sound selectors Declan @beat.detective. This young gun is making waves selecting vinyl sets that include everything from John Coltrane to Funkadelic to Tribe Called Quest, you can catch him regular over the water at Simone’s, Kazimer Garden, Suono listening bar or 24Kitchen street selecting great plates of wax.
Add to this a full on pop up record stall by @onenathanunderagroove bringing a selection of everything funk hiphop jazz soul etc etc etc you get the idea to buy. We got @hella.dough supplying the best handmade pizza onsite, @rockpointrecords supplying you with beer, cocktails. coffee & visual street art delights throughout the day. We have the making of a great monthly gathering.
Rockpoint Records is situated on Victoria Road only 5mins walk from NewBrighton train station on the Wirral Line. Trains run every 30mins from Liverpool to NewBrighton and from Chester via Hamilton Sq. The venue is also dog friendly.
