About this Event
Join us at the Didsbury Death Cafe for an open and honest conversation about death and dying. This in person event will be held at Home Community Cafe on Barlow Moor Road. Didsbury Death Cafe run a regular free space to talk about death, dying and grief. The Death Cafe will be run by Lexi Sears, who set up the Didsbury Death Cafe to give her local community the opportunities to be understood, listened to, and to have the space to meet others with similar experiences, worries or thoughts about death and dying.
It is a very open group and we welcome anyone to our free event. There is no agenda or no set topics of conversation, so we encourage all conversations related to death. You will be joining us for a relaxed coffee & cake and a chance to meet others. The meeting is usually very casual, and you will be in tables of 3-5 people and have the chance to talk about anything you wish. You can also just sit and listen if you would prefer. There will be a maximum of 20 people in total, most of which are new faces each time. It is a relaxed environment where everyone is welcome.

What is a death cafe?
A Death Cafe is a space for people to drink coffee, eat cake and discuss death. The aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their lives. They offer a safe and friendly space for people to come together and have open conversations about death, dying and grief. The discussions are led by the people present, and they have no agenda or direction. Each death cafe is entirely unique and it is very often a room filled with diverse topics. They are light-hearted, supportive and often filled with momenrs of joy as well as more mellow moments in a room full of people who are empathetic and understanding.
They are a not-for-profit initiative, and the hosting cafe are also a registered charity who do not charge for their venue hire. We encourage you to buy coffees and cakes at the venue to support the very kind organisation (the Home Community Cafe!) that support the running of the Death Cafe!
