The aroma of holiday spices, candy canes, sugar gumdrops, and gingerbread will soon swirl through the air. The Dickens of a Christmas Gingerbread House Contest, which is hosted by Farrell's Fine Furnishings located at 214 Watson Street, kicks off Friday evening (December 6) during the Dickens of a Christmas festival. The public is welcome to stop in and vote for their favorite piece.Bakers will compete for their creation to be voted the best in one of two categories: children 14 and under; and an adult/family category. The Gingerbread House Contest is part of Ripon’s 34th annual Dickens of a Christmas celebration which takes place December 6-7, 2024. This year's event will showcase a variety of holiday activities throughout the community, kicking off with the Holiday Parade on Friday evening. The highlight of the weekend are the holiday scenes that are on display in storefront windows during the Dickens of a Christmas Living Windows event which takes place on Saturday evening (December 7) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
