The Alamo City Guards, Camp 1325, invite you to stand with us as we pay our respects to one of the Confederacy’s most legendary heroes—Dick Dowling—the fearless defender of Sabine Pass. This is a rare chance to honor a Southern icon, meet with like-minded men of the SCV, and experience history firsthand.
We will meet July 17th at 5:00 PM for a tour of the site, followed by a fellowship dinner at Merida's Restaurant right next door. Enjoy good food, great company, and the spirit of camaraderie as we raise a toast to Dowling’s courage and the cause he fought for.
The area is safe, but for added assurance, we will have security present throughout the event.
