This is a Club ride to the Dick Allis memorial service on bike at a slow pace but with engaging chatter as a fitting tribute to Dick's lifelong cycling passion and love of life. The weather for Saturday is forecast now Sunny and mid-60's. Please wear your Club kit. Please note - parking may become very constrained at the memorial service due to Dick's popularity in the community and the many that may want to honor him. If you can ride a bike to the event instead of driving, please consider. The SSCC will set up bike parking racks at the funeral home.
Dick Allis was a lifetime member and founding member of Fayette Biking for Life / SouthSide Cycling Club, the Peachtree City Running Club, Bikes for Needy Kids, and volunteer for Clothes Less Travelled.
RIDE SCHEDULE
12:30pm Group gather and prepare to ride at Braelinn Shopping Plaza parking across from the Crosstown Grille.
12:45pm Group start. The 7.6 mile route to the service is on both path, bike route and bike lane and should take approximately 45-50 minutes to travel, arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the service. See link for route. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49567390
2pm: The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home Chapel, 135 Senoia Rd, Peachtree City, GA. Approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the service at 3pm, we will start the return on bike.
4pm: Club Social - The Club will host a social at the Crosstown Grille Bourbon Room starting after the return by bike. All Club members and friends are welcome.
