Dialogues of Curatorial Practice is a transnational curatorial programme run in partnership with The Education University of Hong Kong, Almaty Management University (Kazakhstan), Queen’s University (Canada), and the University of Glasgow (Scotland). The curatorial direction was responding to the shared theme “A Landscape of Change”, exploring how films reflect and shape transformations in society, identity and the world around us.
This screening will feature works that traverse the topologies of care, both external and internal. We have worked with the Latin root of the term "curate," curare, to explore the tensions between the political and the personal. Across our works, familial connections, political tensions, climate catastrophes, and our curiosity about how far care can extend are reframed. As we navigate our internal and external terrains, change is revealed as care unfolds, leading to discovery, growth, and loss that persists through memory. What lasts is a testament to the endurance of our humanity, enabling us to persevere through unfamiliar obstacles to unveil creative reimaginings of our place in the world.
