About this Event
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Workshops
Join Illume: The Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Thurs. Aug. 22nd - Fri. Aug. 23rd, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Central)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based treatment that has been shown to be effective in treating individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, suicidal behaviors, self-injurious behaviors, and pervasive emotional dysregulation. However, not all clients present symptoms warranting the full model of DBT. These clients would still benefit from learning and applying DBT skills to their everyday lives.
This 2-day workshop will help clinicians differentiate which clients would benefit from the full model of DBT; gain a basic orientation to DBT; and add DBT skills to their therapeutic toolkit. The workshops will teach DBT skills using hands on activities that can easily be applied in a variety of therapeutic settings. The presentation is open to the public. This event will be open to the community with limited spots available, capping at 15 total sign ups.
This community event has a cost of $100 + Required book: “The DBT Skills Training Handouts and Worksheets workbook” by Marsha Linehan, PhD
