Gather for a special night comprised of three Cypriot metal acts at Sto Dromo Bar in Limassol on Sunday the 28th of December. Come and headbang to groove, noise and traditional melodies expressed in the Cypriot dialect by the live perfomances of Uncle Philth, Terratsin and Pandaemon. The bands:
Uncle Philth:
Formed in 2018 in Limassol, Cyprus Uncle Philth brings a refined traditional heavy sound, mixing different metal genres, by exploring the vast and flexible musical spectrum of combing overwhelming atmosphere, traditional groovy brutality with the blend of heavy distortion, crushing percussion and the bouzouki. The band now establishes itself as a unique identity by composing their own material, blending subgenres such as Sludge, Progressive Metal, Post-Rock, Folk elements and soul-crushing Psychedelia expressed in the Cypriot dialect. Uncle Philth plays strictly Τρού Συπριώτικ Φόλκ Κουττούτζιν.
Terratsin:
Heavy, raw, unapologetic. Terratsin forge their own path by blending metal aggression, Cypriot folk influences, and a rebellious punk spirit, a sound as unfiltered as their message.
Driven by frustration, fueled by reality. Their lyrics, written entirely in the Cypriot dialect, take aim at the pathologies of Cypriot society, confronting them head-on with intensity and honesty. Formed in November 2023, they may be new, but their energy is undeniable.
Pandaemon:
Pandaemon is a three-piece Post-Doom Metal band hailing from Cyprys, based in the Netherlands, formed in 2022. Their music draws inspiration from the genres of Doom, Black and Post Metal, as well as from the traditional music of the Eastern Mediterranean. The three musicians combine their influences to create a wall of sound, ranging from massive distorted riffs, to ambient melodic passages.
Their lyrics tackle multiple issues which plague their native island of Cyprus, including political corruption, ethnic conflict and deforestation. With the addition of a new member the band is working towards a full album release and is active in the scene playing shows in the Netherlands and Cyprus.
