Join us for this six (6) week workshop that will begin on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM and will continue to meet weekly until the end date of November 14, 2025.
The Diabetes Empowerment Education program was developed by the University of Illinois at Chicago and is geared towards those who are diabetic, pre-diabetic and non-diabetic seniors (60+) who are interested in prevention.
These are highly interactive workshops that give seniors (60+) resources to help them take control of their health. Topics include how to self-manage diabetes, how to decrease risk factors, how to manage and prevent complications, and much more.
This six (6) week workshop will meet once a week on Fridays for two (2) hours. The meet-up dates are below:
- Friday, October 10th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Friday, October 17th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Friday, October 24th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Friday, October 31st from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Friday, November 7th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Friday, November 14th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Those who attend at least five (5) out of the six (6) meet-up dates will receive a take-home resource book, a certificate, and a bag of appreciation prizes!
