Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP)

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) is coming to On Lok 30th Street Senior Center!

Join us for this six (6) week workshop series that will begin on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:30 PM and will continue to meet weekly until the end date of April 3, 2025.

The Diabetes Empowerment Education program was developed by the University of Illinois at Chicago and is geared towards those who are diabetic, pre-diabetic and non-diabetic seniors (60+) who are interested in prevention.

These are highly interactive workshops that give seniors (60+) resources to help them take control of their health. Topics include how to self-manage diabetes, how to decrease risk factors, how to manage and prevent complications, and much more.

This six (6) week workshop series will meet once a week on Thursdays for two (2) hours. The meet-up dates are below:

• Thursday, February 27th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
• Thursday, March 6th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
• Thursday, March 13th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
• Thursday, March 20th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
• Thursday, March 27th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
• Thursday, April 3rd from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM

Those who attend at least five (5) out of the six (6) meet-up dates will receive a take-home resource book, a certificate, and a bag of appreciation prizes!
