About this Event
Individuals aging with HIV face an elevated risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome due to a combination of chronic inflammation, long-term antiretroviral therapy (ART) effects, and traditional aging factors. While modern ART has reduced severe metabolic toxicities, they have not eliminated them, and a "metaflammation" state—a mix of chronic HIV-related inflammation and aging—accelerates immune dysfunction, cardiovascular disease, and, notably, type 2 diabetes. Join Amanda Rittenberg, MD, DABOM, for an in-depth discussion and Q&A.
